Stamps, Stamps and more Stamps!

I received an amazing package covered in old stamps today and inside it was filled with randomness. It was from "Big Fat Stuffed Envelope Swap #5-USA" swap on swap-bot. She really did send a BIG FAT STUFFED envelope lol.

The outside of it,

This post had turned into a huge rant about my weight, driving and relationships but I decided to delete it and keep it a happy post instead.

Lately I have been feeling really uninterested in the things I like to do. I have been wasting my days laying around the house and complaining about how bored I am. Its awful, I hate feeling like I am wasting my time.

What do you do when you are unmotivated?
What is something that inspires you?

This site is helping me come to terms that I will never be a size 0 and that's okay.

This weekend was a busy one and I was hardly ever home so I didnt get to work on anything but I did go thrift shopping (as usual) and I found some really great things,

I Mustache you a question, do you like my new cup?
I LOVE my new tea cup and for $0.30 it was definitely worth it!..even if I dont drink tea or coffee.lol
Next find,

Adorable Solar Power Maneki Neko. It bobbles its head and moves his hand. These usually go for $20 in Little Tokyo and I got it for $0.98 and it was new in its package. Another Maneki Neko for my collection, I have about 40 something now.

Next,
Cute cat painting on wood canvas. There's no year on it but it was painted by someone named Cathy Beaty. $1.99

Last but not least,

So many stickers! It was pretty much a grab bag so I didnt know what I was getting. Most of the sheets have been used but its still a lot of stickers for just $0.30! I love the flower ones and the circle ones in the background are REAL pressed flowers made into stickers.

So that was my thrift finds. I also bought some other stuff for my Etsy which I will be updating tomorrow.

Today my boyfriend, Tim, made his own hookah! He had been wanting to buy a travel size one instead of lugging around his glass one or his 5ft brass one and risking of breaking something. We went to Michaels and found something that looked like it would work as the base and then headed to Home Depot for some other stuff. One hour later, he had created this cute little thing he named "Little Puff Puff",

Lots of mail today!

Coming in:

A letter from someone in England, he wrote that he found me on the send us something site and replied to a thread about me but I honestly don't remember what website that is. Its not sendsomething.net. Anyways, it was a nice letter and he included some a few recipes that sound really delicious.
A letter from Mary, thanks..I will be replying soon.
A postcard from The Peabody, Memphis TN via PostCrossing. LOL, very classy and sophisticated world-famous ducks.
A postcard from my boyfriend's parents who are on vacation in Arizona. Canyon de Chelly.

A closer look at the postcards can be found at my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/apeachylife/

Gosh, I have so much mail to go drop off but I just keep forgetting plus its been way too hot to leave the house during the day. I went out in the late afternoon and it was over 90' degrees with thunderstorms! horrible horrible weather, I hate humidity.

So I finally finished my first ever ATC. I think I like it and I cant wait to start another one.
The butterfly is a temporary tattoo which I love collecting because they always come in handy for creative crafts like this. I was afraid the ink on the pink tissue paper would run because i needed to add a bit of water on the tattoo but it doesnt look like it did. I also used Conte Crayons for the little design thing, they're really chalky so im hoping it doesnt get too smudged before my partner receives is. oh and the actual card used to be a poptart box which i painted with acrylic. I attempted using tempera paint since my brother always uses it for his paintings but failed ...so i covered it with pink tissue paper! lol

Postcard received from Postcrossing. I was pretty active back in 2007/2008 but then I slowly stopped using it but I recently decided to activate my account again.

I went to New York City last month and I didnt see this :(

Definitely a good mail day today,

I got my very first ATC today. I joined "I've Never Made an ATC Before!" on swap-bot because I have been really curious about ATC but never really made one before or atleast traded one before because its a bit intimidating.
This is the I got today,
atc1

I am currently still working on mine but I will post it here before I send it.

The package I received today was also from a swap on swap bot. I got tons of random paper scraps which I hope will come in handy or something. I thought the fabric stickers on the package were really cool though,

I purchased some more envelopes today on a whim, even though i told myself i wouldn't buy anymore. I found some air mail envelopes at the local 99cent store and I have a silly question, I've never used them before but I was told that postage cost more for them since they're considered something like "priority mail", is that true? I dont want to use them unless I know for sure the exact postage on them. Anyways, I just love the classic mail look. If anything, I can just use them as something else.

I also received a loong letter from a penpal in Australia. Im surprised how fast it got here, it was posted on the 4th. Speedy stuff!

unrelated to snail mail - we had another earthquake today (5.4) and I was the only one who didnt feel it!

It has been a long day today and not the very best one either. I just got home about 30 minutes ago and ran to my mailbox to find a big fat envie stuffed with happiness.
This was for "Mailbox Love...Envie Edition" swap from swap-bot

The envie...

The note that came with was the cutest thing ever too,
"My cats send their best regards to yours."

It is very easy to brighten up my day (& night since its already past midnight)

Despicable Me Minion Post!

I finally got around on taking the rest of the pictures for this awesome swap. It was so much fun taking him places and having people stare at me wondering why I was holding an inflatable yellow thing and taking pictures of him.

This is him in Seal Beach. It was my first time going there and I was slightly disappointed that there wasnt any seals! It's only called Seal Beach because the Navy base located a mile or two from where the picture was taken.
Despicable Me Minion Swap

These next few were all taken in downtown Pomona on Antique Row & the Art Walk both on 2nd street. Pretty much the only nice thing I like about where I live. The Glass House is on 2nd street if anyone has ever heard of it, it's a really nice and intimate concert venue. Last time I went there was to see Peaches & Steed Lord :)
Now that I am thinking about it, I should have taken him to pose in front of the Fox Theater. oh well.

This one is taken right in front of the post office I go to. Sadly, it was closed today :(

Despicable Me Minion Swap

There's more pictures of the minion on my flickr, I just didnt feel like posting them all.

Can't wait for the the mail man to come by tomorrow, I missed him today.
In other news, it is not entirely snail mail related but I scored an interview at the UPS! It's for a package handler position just like the USPS job I had gotten in 08' (unfortunately, two days before my training started for that job, it got canceled due to the economy being crappy). I hope I get it, I really need the money.

Happy 4th of July!
No mail tomorrow :( but we have Tuesday to look forward to...double the mail!

Postcard received the other day from a Swap-bot swap entitled "Cat Postcard". A very simple swap and the postcard is so adorable + the back side is covered in feline related stickers.

Would anyone be interested in a postcard from Quebec? I reside in California but I recently went on vacation and got to visit Canada for a day.

Lets get started...

This postcard was received through a Swap-Bot swap. The swap called for a postcard from a place you are currently on vacation at. The sender visited Maine and coincidently enough, I went to Maine too! I only saw cows and a couple of moose though since I was there visiting an aunt who owns a dairy farm in Smithfield. I would have loved to see a lighthouse or two.
PC from paflip25

on to the next,
Another Swap-Bot swap. I believe this swap was called "I suck at crafts" or something along those lines. I sent one of my felt donuts which I am actually very proud of. (If anyone would like one feel free to leave your info, I'll gladly send you one)
I received this altered matchbox filled with lucky folding stars. I have never attempted to make one myself since I am unsure on how to actually make one. I wonder if you actually use a real matchbox or simply make one out of cardboard?  Anyways, my partner did a great job I think being her first time and all and I love lucky folding stars! Maybe I'll try my hand on making an altered matchbox soon.

Still getting the hang of this but I would like to welcome myself to the world of blogging. I have had many online journals throughout my teenage angst years but I would like to start a new one, a more serious one that allows me to share with others what I love to do and why I enjoy my life so much.

I am currently a student at a local college. I have had three years of college life and I have yet to make up my mind on what exactly I would like to do when this is all over. As of now, I consider myself an art student, studing fine arts and soon I will have an AA in fine arts. What I will do with that degree, I still have no idea but it's a start. Perhaps I will continue on to get a Bachelor's degree in the same field or something relating to it. I have always liked culinary arts, I can really see myself decorating cakes for a living but I also do want to start my own business someday so maybe I should study business. All I know is that for the rest of my life I want to do something that makes me happy and lets me express myself without actually verbally speaking. I am a very shy and socially awkward 20 year old.
